1995-1998 Pandas were issued from 2 mints and have 2 different date lettering styles: "small date" and "large date". The strike and luster of the two types are also different Exact mintage of each date variety is unknown, but it is certainly much less than 32,000 (perhaps ~16,000)
In the mid 1990's gold demand was low, so 1994-2000 mintages were exceptionally low. Some dealer stock may have been melted for jewelry. These years are scarce. This is a top quality coin.
